Houston Guide // Day 3

Downtown Houston is becoming like a second home to me. I am there almost everyday for work and I feel like I've really grown to know my way around and find some really great spots. I think the 'downtown day' was my favorite day because these are the places that I frequent the most and have really grown to love.

Market Square Park 301 Milam Street
The perfect starting location near the bayou with all the main attractions in close walking proximity. We hung out here for a bit, snapping some photos at the mural, taking in the views, and placing drink orders at Niko Nikos.

Buffalo Bayou Walk Preston Street
We headed toward Preston Street to start our walk along the bayou. There is a secret red button on the Preston Street Bridge which when pressed, makes a big rumbling noise and bubbles in the bayou. It's silly but we had a fun time looking for it (and finding it!) The bayou itself may not be the prettiest body of water but mixed in with the urban setting, it turns out to be a really beautiful walk.

Sky Lobby JP Morgan Chase Tower 600 Travis Street
Coming out of the Bayou walk way, we made our way inside to cool off and check out an amazing view of Houston. Whenever I visit a new city I love being able to get a bird's eye view. Trekking up 60 floors, the sky lobby is absolutely stunning. I love the large windows and I come here during my lunch breaks all the time to relax.

The Honeymoon Cafe & Bar 300 Main Street
After grabbing a quick lunch at Chipotle on Main, we walked down a couple blocks to this coffee shop/bar. The setting is so lovely, there were actually two engagement couple photo shoots taking place. We refueled on coffee before heading out once more.

Discovery Green 1500 McKinney Street
Our last stop before I had to take them to the airport was Discovery Green. I couldn't let them leave Houston without experiencing what this gem has to offer. I love all the art installations and the different events constantly taking place here.

I'll also be posting about our Galveston day trip soon! <3
