Headed down to New Orleans on my Friday off for the first time with my oldest and best friends. Couldn't imagine experiencing this crazy city without the craziest people I know :) We also met up with my friends from Germany who were reaching their last stop on their big USA trip. New Orleans won me over in every way with the architecture, food, partying, and shopping. Click below to see more.
Stayed: Lower Garden District
My friends and I booked the most charming house in NOLA through Airbnb. The space was stunning with high ceilings, art-covered walls, and oddities in every corner. We felt right at home hanging out on the porch before adventuring out every night.
Eats:
We knew coming to NOLA that we would be eating non-stop. I wanted all the beignets I could get my hands on. Hivolt Coffee, District Donuts, and Cafe Du Monde were my favorites.
Shopping:
I loved all the shops along Magazine Street. I fell head over heels for the boutique and antique stores. I picked up a Polish flag from Brad & Dellwen Flag Party, some jam from District Donuts, and browsed Marie Laveau's House of Voodoo in the French Quarter for some good luck charms.
In the Garden District we made a quick stop at Buckner Mansion where American Horror Story: Coven was filmed. We are all fans of the show and couldn't miss the opportunity to check it out. We spent most of our time wandering the streets of the French Quarter, popping into shops, browsing the street market, and stopping to enjoy the live music.
After reuniting after such a long time we definitely wanted to celebrate. I loved having two of my friend groups come together to celebrate a really special time in all of our lives. Both of these streets are downright insane. It's seriously a non-stop party in NOLA all the time. We partied as hard as we could, soaking in all the energy and laissez faire attitude. I love these ladies with all my heart and I can't wait for another trip with them.
