One of my favorite things about Houston is how international it is. There are so many cultural & international festivals that take place throughout the year, I do my best to attend them regularly. The Polish festival in particular hits close to home for me as my mother was born in Poland, I studied in Wroclaw, and I met my boyfriend in Poland. I loved being able to celebrate being Polish and reconnect with the culture. My mom and I watched our fair share of traditional dances, ate as much pierogi and kielbasa we could, and even downed a beer together.
